Slack does double duty in Outlit: shared channels with customers (or internal customer threads) become conversation evidence, and Slack is where attention notifications deliver.

Connect

From Integrations → Slack, OAuth takes you through Slack’s approval screen and back. After connecting, the setup asks you to choose which channels Outlit can see — connect the channels where customer work happens (shared channels, account channels), not the whole workspace by default.

Notifications

Slack is the primary notification destination for the Churn responsibility:
  1. Open Settings → Destinations.
  2. Add a Slack channel from the connected workspace.
  3. Set it as the default destination — new churn cases notify there.
Without a Slack destination, notifications fall back to email — to the workspace admin or the customer owner — so a destination isn’t strictly required, but a shared channel is where cases get triaged fastest.

What Slack evidence looks like

Channel messages tied to a customer appear as evidence in case assessments and profile activity — with links back to the thread. Churn language, unresolved complaints, and stakeholder changes in those channels can help explain a risk. Only connected channels are visible to Outlit. If a customer’s shared channel exists but produces no evidence, it probably wasn’t selected during setup — revisit the Slack connection’s channel list.

Troubleshooting

Check Settings → Destinations — is a Slack destination added and set as default? Also check whether the case actually generated a notification (some case activity notifies; quiet status updates don’t spam the channel).
The channel wasn’t selected in the Slack connection’s channel list, or the channel was created after you connected Slack — re-open the Slack connection and extend channel access.
Reconnect from Integrations. Workspace admin approval in Slack may be required depending on your Slack admin settings.
